Finding the Sunshine

Finding the Sunshine
by Chris Biles

Day after day
we cross chasms of all different sizes
on legs that grow and shrink
– depending.
Sometimes they reach.
Other times we fall.
Life is just a balance of big and small,
a balance between feeling less significant
than the dimmest of stars,
and feeling infinite.
But what matters most
is that a blade of grass
can become a sturdy bridge
if we see it from the ant’s point of view,
and the tallest building
is just a stepping stone
to help our hands reach the sky,
part the clouds.
